Smile a WHILEFriday, August 03, 2012 12:07 PMSMILE A WHILE AND WHILE YOU SMILE, ANOTHER SMILES- AND SOON THERE'S
MILES AND MILES OF SMILES AND LIFE'S WORTHWHILE BECAUSE YOU SMILED.

THANKS TO MARJORIE CHARLTON FOR SHARING THIS. SHE SAID THIS TO HER CHILDREN WHEN THEY WERE LITTLE TO CHEER THEM UP AND IT WORKED! GIVE IT A TRY NEXT TIME SOMEONE IS FILLED WITH GLOOMQuoteFriday, August 03, 2012 12:03 PM"A smile is priceless and contagious, let us all infect the world!" Luana HaygenThe Value of a SMILETuesday, May 15, 2012 3:55 PM This is from a tiny book from 1925 by Wilbur D Nesbit
"The thing that goes the farthest toward making life worth while,
That costs the least, and does the most, is just a pleasant smile.
The smile that bubbles from the heart that loves its fellowmen( and women)
will drive away the clouds of gloom and coax the sun again.

It's full of worth, and goodness, too with human kindess blent---
It's worth a million dollars--- and it doesn't cost a cent.

There is no room for sadness where we see a cheery smile;
It always has the same good look---it's never out of style---
It nerves us on to try again when failure makes us blue;
The dimples of encouragement are good for me and you.

It pays a higher interest, for it is merely lent---
It's worth a million dollars---and it doesn't cost a cent.

A smile comes easily enough,
a twinkle in the eye is natural --- and does more good than
any long drawn sign!
It touches on the heartstrings till they quiver blithe and long,
And always leaves an echo that is very like a song---

So---smile away!
Folks understand what by a smile is meant;
It's worth a million dollars---and it doesn't cost a cent.ButtonsMonday, April 02, 2012 2:01 PMIf anyone would like to order a Smile Revolution Button, please send $3 if you are in the US, and $4 if you are out of the country. "Joy is the elixir for all things. Bring more joy into your tasks. When you radiate a vibration of joy. however mild, there is a shift in response within your body that is reflected in the response of your reality.

It can be as easy as a smile on your face as you do one of these tasks. This will create a different message to your body and you will shift the usual stress responses to your work and busyness into a more conscious relaxed state of mind/heart.

Become aware of the stages or subtle frequencies of the emotional vibration you label joy.
There is ecstacy, rapture, bliss, jubilation, delight, happiness, cheer, gladness, and pleasure. Practice the different frequencies of joy.

Be delighted. Celebrate the small wonders all around you. Rejoice with your breath. Smile for no reason, just smile into the moment. Allow new face muscles to be discovered as you smile into your concerns and worries.

Find cause to laugh, giggle, or radiate cheerfulness, practice being light-hearted, carefree, and elated about the miracles in your life or the miracles of the moment. Be happy, be bright. rejoice and enjoy. Be in joy.

The skill of maintaining an attitude and frequency of joy is a most important skill. Imagine that you have a joy muscle and you have not exercised it enough. You need to stretch it, expand it and fully express it. Allow joy in any form to proceed you.

Smile as you answer the phone, make a meal, and pay your bills. Smile into the mirror each time you look at your image, smile at your reflection. Smile as you are falling asleep at night. Practice smiling even while you are thinking.

Place your awareness in your heart when you smile. This is a powerful alchemical practice. The simple act of smiling from your heart will attract more joy, bliss, and happiness into your life.

Your joy will be like a healing balm to yourself and others in your life. Practice your joy in all its wonderous forms."Neale Donald WalschWednesday, March 07, 2012 2:05 PMNew York Times best selling author and speaker wrote "Conversations with God series and more. He was a guest on my Smile Revolution Radio Show twice. This is what he said:

"You need not be concerned about money. Be concerned instead, about JOY. How much JOY
are you experiencing in this moment? How much joy are you BRINGING to this moment? The joy you experience will be the joy you bring. If you are waiting for joy to be brought to you, you do not understand what you are doing here. And if you think that joy has anything to do with money, you really do not understand what you are doing here.
There is a person waiting Right NOW, right this minute for you to uplift them. Do that...and you will be rich. Really, I mean really. I am not making this up."

Interesting, huh? We need a world of people being bringers of joy, not gloom, frowns and coldness. Yes, we all go through rough times, and its harder to smile, but sometimes I need YOU to smile at ME to remind me to smile. Remind me of joy, that is within all of us and is a gift from God ( Or whatever you call the Higher Power, the Divine, the Source etc). POEMMonday, February 20, 2012 12:47 PMWhen I had my Smile Revolution Radio Show on WKNY 1490 am Kingston, NY from 2006-2008, a listener sent me a plaque with this anonymous poem.
Their note said, " Mindy, Even though this plaque is 29 years old, it's proof, "The Smile" will always be "The Smile". "A smile is just as good for what ails you as MOM's chicken soup."
Your show is very interesting. Welcome. I hope you find a spot for this poem in your show.
Love and smiles,
Sharon and Dennis

SMILE!
A smile is something nice to see,
It doesn't cost a cent.

A smile is something all your own,
It never can be spent.

A smile is welcome anywhere,
It does away with frowns.

A smile is good for everyone,
To ease life's ups
and downs.

A HUG ( it could also apply to a smile)Tuesday, November 29, 2011 2:39 PMAnonymous poem

"It's a wondrous thing what a hug can do
A hug can cheer you when you are blue.

A hug can say, "I love you so.
Or "gee. I hate to see you go.
A hug is "Welcome back again," and
"Great to see you! Where've you been?"

A hug can soothe a small child's pain
And bring about a rainbow after rain.

The hug! There's been no doubt about it..
We scarcely could survive without it!

A hug delights and warms and charms,
It must be why God gave us arms.

Hugs are great for fathers and mothers,
Sweet for sisters, swell for brothers.

Kittens crave them. Puppies love them.
Heads of state are not above them.

A hug can break the language barrier.
Amd make your travels so much merrier.

No need to fret about your store of "em:
The more you give, the more there is of "em.

So stretch those arms without delay
And give someone a hug today!Joel OsteenFriday, October 21, 2011 11:10 AMSaid in his book, "It's Your Time", "Scientists said that a friend's happy face has a more positive influence that a $5,000 raise."

Learn to smile exerciseSaturday, August 13, 2011 7:57 AMThis is from the book, The Healing Power of Humor by Allen Klein

"If indeed faking a smile is as beneficial as doing it for real, then go ahead and do it. SMILE. How do you feel when you are smiling?
Now. frown and notice how you are feeling.
Okay. Now go back to your normal face, whatever that is.
Maybe you noticed that it felt better to smile than not to. And perhaps you will do it more often.
If you are still having trouble smiling, try what Virginia Tooper does. She has a 6 inch cardboard cutout smile with an elastic band on it. When she does not feel like smiling, she puts it on. Then she looks in the mirror. Suddenly a real smile happens under the cardboard one."A Smile Gives us life energySaturday, August 13, 2011 7:52 AMFrom the book, The Healing Power of Humor, by Allen Klein

"Dr.John Diamond believes that smiling, or even looking at a smile, as Burgess did, gives us what he calls "life energy." "We have always known, "says Diamond, "how beautiful and beneficial a smile is. Now we can show-actually demonstrate-the therapeutic value of smiling." In his book "Your Body Doesn't Lie", he states that smiling helps strengthen the thymus gland, an important contributor to a healthy immune system, because the zygomaticus major (those smile muscles) and the thymus gland are closely linked."Private Joy SessionsMonday, July 11, 2011 3:46 PMSince I help people all the time, and have been a spiritual seeker for decades, I have decided to offer private sessions on the phone, and by e-mail. Thank you for coming for a refreshing visit for spiritual nourishment. May your challenges be small, and your blessings be huge! Dale CarnegieSaturday, July 09, 2011 12:50 PM"How to win Friends and Influence People" by Dale Carnegie is an amazing book. It was written decades ago, but the words are timeless. He wrote an entire chapter on smiling!
Here is the first paragraph from that chapter.

"At a dinner party in New York, one of the guests, a woman who had inherited money, was eager to make a pleasing impression on everyone. She had squandered a modest fortune on sables, diamonds. and pearls. But she hadn't done anything whatever about her face. It radiated sourness and selfishness. She didn't realize what everyone knows: namely, that the expression one wears on one's face is far more important than the clothes one wears on one's back."

Do not envy others who may have fancy clothes, fancy cars and big homes. You have no idea what their life is like behind closed doors. Yes, we all need money to pay our bills. But, the emphasis on more, more, more material things, and forgetting about what is most important in life, is atheistic materialism. Don't let anyone steal your joy today! If someone is belittling you, don't take it in. Don't allow it or walk away if you have to if they won't stop. I believe in forgiveness, but if someone continues to abuse others, and that is their practice, it is not help you keep you smile. We need people in this critical time to keep their joy as much as possible. Do what moves you. Do what you feel is in your heart. Your heart doesn't lie.
Listen to it.Quote from Neil YoungTuesday, June 28, 2011 8:34 PM"You can free me all in the way you smile."

From the song, "Tell Me Why"
The Gift of a Lovely ThoughtTuesday, June 21, 2011 9:28 PMMay your challenges be small, and your blessings be huge! The Dalai LamaTuesday, June 14, 2011 11:02 PMWhen asked what surprized him most about humanity, answered "Man,(and woman) because he sacrifices his health in order to make money. Then he(she) sacrifices sacrifices money to recouperate his(her) health. And then he is so anxious about the future that he(she) does not enjoy the present: the result being that he(she) doesn't live in the present or the future; he lives as if he is never going to die, and then dies having never lived."
Footnote:
I added the other gender because we are equal to men. Women must stand up for ourselves and be strong. We are not inferior to men. Women should not make less wages then men for the same work. For centuries, its been a men's club. The times are a changin'.
QuoteSaturday, May 28, 2011 11:11 PM"One word or a pleasing smile is often enough to raise up a saddened and wounded soul."

Theresa of LisieuxThe Value of a SmileSunday, April 24, 2011 12:11 PMI found this in a wonderful, important book, Dale Carnegie's "How to Win Friends and Influence People". It was written many years ago, and its for dealing in the workplace, families and any relationship. Its a must read!

In a department store in NYC many years ago, in recognition of the pressures its sales clerks were under during the Christmas(and Hannukah or Kwanza) rush, presented the readers of its advertisements with the following homely philosophy:

The Value of a Smile At Christmas( I am adding that there are other holidays at that time!)
It costs nothing, but creates much.
It enriches those who receive, without impoverishing those who give.
It happens in a flash and the memory of it sometimes lasts forever.
None are so rich they can get along without it, and none so poor but are richer for its benefits.
It creates happiness in the home, fosters good will in a business, and is the countersign of friends.
It is rest to the weary, daylight to the discouraged, sunshine to the sad, and Nature's best antidote for trouble.
Yet it cannot be bought, begged, borrowed, or stolen, for it is something that is no earthly good til it is given away.
And if in the last-minute rush of Christmas buying some of our salespeople should be too tired to give you a smile, may we ask you to leave one of yours?
For nobody needs a smile so much as those who have none left to give!

Smiling is a mood boosterWednesday, March 30, 2011 9:18 PM"Isn't it annoying when you are a little blue and your friends and family tell you to smile? Well, like it or not, smiling is a mood booster. Here's why! People react better to you when you look happy, leading to a reinforcing cycle of good vibes. Plus, thanks to something called "facial feedback", looking happy(oddly enough) tools your brain into thinking that you ARE happy." Paul Bloom, authorMary Baker EddyThursday, March 10, 2011 2:08 PMI love this quote from Mary Baker Eddy, founder and discover of Christian Science in the 1800's..when women stayed at home doing domestic work..she was starting a church, a newspaper, a magazine and more... amazing.

"Oh the bliss of blessing ourselves by blessing others."

Quote about Princess WOW!Monday, March 07, 2011 12:31 PM"Princess WOW!'s the genuine article, a healing presence in the world, with a heart of gold, and pure intentions. She's a real blessing, and I commend her for all the good she has done and will continue to do."

spiritual healer, author, poet, singer/songwriterGoldie Hawn and smiling..Monday, March 07, 2011 11:50 AM"They say a baby smiles an average of 72 times a day, and a toddler laughs or smiles 600 times a day. We learn to smile very early in life. It is one of the first things we do, after we learn to cry. And how do we learn to smile? By how much we are smiled at. Does our smile live somewhere in the double helix of our DNA, or is it nurtured?
Somewhere in there lies the truth, which is- it is nature, but it must be nurtured. To understand our mother's smile is to understand our own smile. to know what triggers that physiological response.
A smile is an indication of a happy heart, and when you smile it changes your perception. It can create a better day. As frivolous as it might sound, studies have proven that even if you don't feel like smiling, if you force yourself to smile, you will change your state of mind. By doing so, you can actually raise the immune-system boosters in your blood.
The question is, Where does that smile go? Why is it that as we grow older( newer, in my book, as every moment is new, Princess WOW addition) we smile less? Could it be that we are looking for happiness in the wrong places? Is it fear that stops us from being happy? Have we forgotten how to seek those simple pleasures that brought us such joy as children? To find the spaces between our thoughts that allow these joyful memories to flood back?
I suppose the key to holding on to that smile is to try to remember how much you smiled when you were young. Never forget, because that smile STILL LIVES IN YOU, no matter how old(new) you are."
From Goldie Hawn's book, A Lotus grows in the mud, She says its not to tell her life story, but to speak openly and from the heart...great book! The words in quotes are my additions..as I have a different perspective..we are fresh and new every day since every day is new, and every moment is new..its the eternal NOW..which is where God is..not in the past or future. If you do not believe in God, do you believe in good? Love? Truth? That is God as I see it. If you feel differently, that is fine! I am sharing my point of view with my readers. We are all entitled to our views..This is about joy, love, acceptance..this revolution of sincere smiles..Its not a religion. Its about giving and receiving smiles. Very few people smile all the time!
Speak gentlyMonday, February 28, 2011 7:56 AMThis is a song written by Mindy Jostyn and Jacob Brackman, based on a poem by David Bates, used by permission. Music from the Serum Gradual, 1527. I knew Mindy. She was best friends with Carly Simon, and Jacob, her husband wrote music for Carly for many years. Mindy passed away in 2005. It was a great loss to many. Carly Simon posted it on the front of her website.
Mindy's website is still up if anyone wants to visit it. mindyjostyn.com. Thanks Mindy for being an inspiration to me.

"Speak gently, it is better far
To rule by love, not fear
Speak gently, let no harsh word harm
The good we may do here

Speak gently to the bitter ones
Forgive and comfort them
Someone's unkindness made them cruel
O win them back again

Speak gently, it's a little thing
Dropped down the heart's deep well
And still, the good it may yet bring
Eternity will tell

Speak gently, it is better far
To rule by love, not fear"

I just wrote the charming story of how Princess Wow and her husband Roland, met to post on my blog  and inspire my readers! It is a sweet love story I'd also like to share with you all...

I wrote about hats creating interactions and connections between people in my last blog. And I wrote about how my hat designer friend, Mindy Fradkin, who is now Mindy Fradkin Mousaa! She met her artist/musician/ promotor husband, (that's Mr. Mousaa!) because she was waiting in a line to be seated in a restaurant with friends wearing a marvelous hat of her own design. He was with children who loved her hat, but were too shy to say anything. But he was brave enough to talk to her in line! This man could not help but to come over and tell her he admired her hat! And thusly introduce himself! They met because she was wearing a hat and he just had to know more! Isn't that romantic? Happy 1-1-11Friday, December 31, 2010 2:55 PMWe are all ONE! Thank you all for visiting my beloved blog that launched at the beginning of 2006 when hardly anyone heard of a blog. Scott Mahr, web designer extraordinaire, who I have known since first grade in Baltimore, said to me, "You have a lot to say, you need a blog," So, he set me up on my blog and I started writing. I have had a radio show with well known musicians and authors and people doing wonderful projects that uplift the world. I am producing concerts now to promote The Smile Revolution and am starting a tv show online in January. Stay tuned and I will let ya know how to access it. Many blessings and genuine smiles to everyone! We must declare and accept that we are blessed. Count your blessings even if they seem small to you. If you do, more good will come. Go help some one. Be friendly today and everyday. Say hello and tell people who walk by you on the street that they are blessed. I dare you. This IS a revolution. Happy Holy DaysFriday, December 24, 2010 7:50 AMI don't want to leave anyone out. I was born Jewish. Jesus was Jewish. I honor my Jewish background and the good that it does. I honor whatever you religion you choose or are born into and practice. If you are an atheist, and that works for you, wonderful. This is a spiritual revolution about expressing joy, which IS love, which is within us all. It is a spiritual quality we all share and need to express more of. Look at children. Most of them express it in abundance. What happened to us adults? We need to be more child like and innocent. Children know more than you realize. Have an open mind and learn from them. Yes, we need to teach them too, but they have a lot to teach us. Happiness is spiritual. It had nothing to do with material wealth or prestige. It has to do with what qualities you are expressing. Are you being loving, kind, smiling from the heart, generous, caring? Happiness is contagious. Spread it. SMILE!
John Lennon quote and Princess WOW commentaryThursday, December 09, 2010 5:05 AM"Count your age by friends, not years. Count your life by SMILES, not tears."

I say that we are all fresh and NEW every day. We are all ageless wonders, expressing qualities at different stages. Or you can say, you are ___years NEW. Next time someone says, "How OLD are you?" You can say, "You mean, how NEW am I?" They will say, "What do you mean?" "Well, every day is a new day, and every moment is new, so therefore, we are all NEW!"Being Friendly, Generous and Compassionate PeopleSunday, October 31, 2010 1:00 PMI posted these quotes in 2006, and just found them today. I wanted to repost them because I feel they are so important.

The movie, Patch Adams, was a true inspiration to my life. If you haven't seen it, do yourself a favor and borrow it or rent it. Its based on his life. Its not 100% accurate but totally inspiring film.

"The most revolutionary act you can commit in today's society is to be publicly HAPPY."

"If compassion and generosity were the measure of success that MONEY and POWER are now, how would your life change?"

"Do you dare to be universally friendly to end violence?"

"If being publicly joyful, even silly, were beneficial for our society, would you participate?"

Its interesting that I am penning this on Halloween Day. I love that today people are wearing "costumes" and allow themselves one day a year to look "silly". ( which I think looks great!). I wear a "costume" every day and its FUN.

I wear rainbow colors head to toe and it makes people smile. Why couldn't we wear costumes one day a week, just for FUN? I know most of us wouldn't do it, but what if we broke out of our comfort zone and beliefs about how you are supposed to look for one day other than one day a year? It might make you smile and others too!

Wow! To have a world of adults having more fun and joy! What a concept! The child that we once were, is still within us and wants to have more good, clean fun with NO guilt! Endorsement from Sir Sid BernsteinSunday, October 31, 2010 9:08 AMSir Sid Bernstein brought The Beatles to America. I met him with my husband. I saw him at Julian Lennon's photography opening in SOHO, New York, and told him that he was fresh and new every day, and that he is 91 years NEW. He then said, "Call me. I will help you" and kept walking. He didn't even give me his number. He assumed I could find it.I did.
After calling him for two weeks almost every day and much convincing, he agreed to give me a meeting in person. He recently got knighted by the recommendation of Sir Paul McCartney and it got international news. His phone is ringing off the hook. After spending one hour with me, he said, " Dear Mindy, (my personal name), You are a genuine blessing. Keep up the good work. Luv, Sid Bernstein".Looking for InvestorsSaturday, October 23, 2010 12:22 PMI am looking for investors. If anyone is interested or knows someone who might want to get involved in helping to promote joy and genuine smiles thru CDs, concerts, a tv show( I have a pilot completed), books etc. Please let me know. I have celebrity endorsements as well. Pete Seeger is onboard contributing his time, talents and friendship. Robert Thurman, who is Uma Thurman's dad and best friend of The Dalai Lama, and Sid Bernstein, who brought The Beatles to America, are supporters. May you give and receive many genuine smiles. How this all startedThursday, October 21, 2010 11:08 AMThe Smile Revolution began in 2005 on my Dad's deathbed. He rarely smiled because my grandmother committed suicide when my Dad was a boy and he found her. He rarely smiled again. I grew up depressed as well. The last time I saw my Dad conscious, he gave me a big grin and that smile changed my life. Ten months after his death, I heard a thought that said, "It's time to start the Smile Revolution." I was on the radio a lot that year and was on the radio on December 25, 2005 and launched the project on the air. My whole life changed. I started this blog in 2006 when no one heard of a blog. I began a radio show in 2006 for two years with celebrity guests, musicians, authors and promoted uplifting projects that help the world along with the healing power of a  genuine smile.
We recently completed a tv pilot to promote this worthy project. The tv show is being shot now and will be online in January. I will let you know how to access it. We had a sold out concert with Pete Seeger as the head liner. We will be doing more concerts and festivals, the tv show, the blog and books as well. I are blessed and so are you.Sold out First Smile Revolution Concert!Friday, September 10, 2010 2:32 AMOn August 8th, 2010 The Smile Revolution had its First Concert with Pete Seeger headlining at Bearsville Theater in Woodstock, New York. Pete sang for almost 2 hours and he inspired a lot of us with uplifting ideas to encourage people and give them hope. I sang back up vocals. My husband, Roland Mousaa, sang The Smile Revolution song that we wrote together. I talked about the healing power of a smile. We also had other wonderful musicians including

Tom Desisto, Mary Poppiins, Bill Keith, Eric Weisberg, Tom Pacheco, and Harris Breiman.

Thanks to Woodstock Radio! We couldn't have done it without them.

The concert was sold out! Big success on our first one!

Endorsement from Dr. Stephen J.Johnson, Ph.D.Friday, September 10, 2010 2:16 AM"I recently saw the movie, Eat, Pray, Love, and in one scene when Elizabeth Gilbert was sitting with the Shaman in Bali he told her to smile with her whole being and then went on to encourage her to even smile with her liver. The importance of smiling can fall by the wayside, unless we remember to do it. Princess WOW, you're encouraging people to do it and you're leading a movement that actually can revolutionize the world. A simple smile expresses love. It begins with the mouth and radiates from your whole being, including your liver.

Quote from David Amram about Princess Wow's Smile RevolutionTuesday, August 31, 2010 3:55 AM"In a world that often seems impersonal and uncaring, Mindy Fradkin-Mousaa aka Princess WOW, reminds us all that something as simple as a smile can have a profound effect and lift up people's spirits. Her simple heartfelt philosophy is very refreshing by reminding us of our basic humanity and that dealing with other people in a compassionate and loving way is the most rewarding thing you can do."

David Amram, musician extraordinaire

David is one of the truly great men on the planet who has scored movies for "The Manchurian Candidate" and "Splender in the Grass" and has worked with Willie Nelson, Pete Seeger, my wonderful husband, Roland, who Pete Seeger says is one of the greatest unknown musicians in the world,  and many of the greatest of them all over the years. Roland has been friends and worked with David since 1969 as well Pete Seeger.

David is a wonderful person, always upbeat, and loving. There is a documentary film being made about David now in the works. Stay tuned.

All I can say is "WOW"!

This movement all started from my Dad's deathbed when he gave me a big smile the last time I saw him conscious. He rarely expressed joy and rarely smiled. I also didn't smile very much either. My grandmother committed suicide when my Dad was 9 years NEW and he rarely smiled after that and I wasn't very happy either. I can honestly say that that isn't the case any longer. Halleluyah! Joy is revelation! Support joy, SMILE! Common you can do it. Fake it til you make it, if you have to. "If" for girls( but really for everyone) suggested by Rudyard KiplingMonday, June 07, 2010 3:19 AM If you can hear the whispering about you,

And never yield to deal in whispers, too;

if you can bravely SMILE when loved ones doubt you,

And never doubt, in turn, what loved ones do;

If you can keep a sweet and gentle spirit

In spite of fame and fortune,  rank or place,

And though you win your goal or only near it,

Can win with poise or lose with equal grace;

If you meet with unbelief, believing,

And hallow in your heart a simple creed,

If you can meet Deception, undeceiving.

And learn to look for God for all you need;

If you can be what girls should be to Mothers;

Chums in JOY and comrades in distress,

And be unto others as you'd have the others

Be unto you-no more and yet no less;

If you can keep with in your heart the power,

To say that firm, unconquerable "NO";

if you can brave a present shadowed hours

Rather than yield to build a future woe;

If you can love, yet not let loving master,

But keep yourself within your own self's clasp,

And not let Dreaming lead you to disaster,

Nor pity's fascination loose your grasp;

If you can lock your heart on confidences,

Nor ever needlessly in turn confide;

If you can put behind you all pretenses

of mock, humility or foolish pride;

If you can keep the simple, homely virtue

of walking right with God- then have no fear

That anything in all the world can hurt you-

And which is  more- you'll be a woman, dear." by JP McEvoy

Find your JOYThursday, May 13, 2010 7:18 AMI found this on Intenders of the Highest Good newsletter this month.

"We create the New Earth simply by finding our joy. When we access our joy, everyone and everything around us is affected in a positive way. Then, from that joy, we can turn any area into an area of light, love and peace, where all our needs are met NOW. This is our task. This is why we came here at this time."

I know that its not easy at times to find your joy, but it IS always there and available within us all. Its a gift from God, or maybe it IS God. We all have challenges, but if we can focus our thought on the good that always surrounds us no matter what is happening on the human scene, that is where you will find your joy. Count your blessings NOW. Acknowledge the good. Its a shift of focus, that is all. I always tell people all day long when they ask me how I am. I say, "I am blessed, and so are YOU." Its the truth and it usually awakens the person I am speaking to. It doesn't work 100% of the time, because some people don't understand what I mean. But, that's ok with me because I feel led to say these powerful thoughts. It helps me as well because I am acknowledging that truth all day long.

Deviancy is normal. Our role models cheat, drink and run around; these are the people in the news. The news sells bad news; no one wants to hear good news. Kids are killing kids. Victims have little protection. Violence is normal. Leaders cheat and lie. Everything is backwards. We need to pray for spiritual intervention. Its a New DayFriday, April 09, 2010 3:57 PM
The other day I was watching "Laugh In", a wonderful silly and fun tv show from the late 1960's. Goldie Hawn, a joyful comedienne, was talking about new people(meaning young) vs old people..I promote the idea that we are all ageless wonders and that we are all expressing qualities at different stages. In our society there are problems based on the "generation gap", based on the idea that "younger" people are cooler than "older" people and that people in their "30's" are hipper than people in their "50's" and so on.

Many people feel bad because of their "number" and suffer from the idea of their "number". From the time you are born, you are told that you are 6 months "old" and 10 years "old". I would like to propose a new idea to the world. What if the next time someone asks you how "old" you are, you can say, "How NEW am I? I am 20 years "NEW"! Everyday is a new day and everyday I am reborn. Its makes you feel better and its true..and it gets rid of the belief that you are "OLD" whatever your "number" is that day.

I love it!
Elders Meditation of the Day, March 29th, 2010Monday, March 29, 2010 9:18 AM"Tell the people not to cry. Tell them to be happy."
-John Fire Lame Deer, LAKOTA (told to his son, Archie, as he died)

Our Elders know about the two worlds, the Physical World and the Spiritual World. Many times, before we pass to the Spirit World, our relatives, who have gone there before us, will come for us and they will help us. The Spirit World, the Elders say, is a good,  happy, and harmonious place. When we die, it means we have only entered another world. We will all see one another again.

Great Spirit, allow me to understand both the Spirit World and the Physical World.  Today, let me be happy.

Please note: If someone is a murderer or siding with the evil side, my understanding is that they don't go to the same place or state of consciousness. Help One AnotherSaturday, March 20, 2010 1:27 AM"Give help rather than advice."

Luc de VauvenarguesImagine a New WorldSunday, March 07, 2010 3:05 AMLet's Imagine..

Our society is so focused on aging from the time we are little. Instead of asking others, "How OLD are you?" We could say, "How NEW are you?" Every day is a new day and everyday that you awaken you are fresh and new. Every moment is new. That is the truth too. It takes the sting out of your "number" if you are 20 years new! It sounds fun actually. We are just expressing qualities at different stages. How about accepting the "number" that you are or just say you are an ageless wonder, and just focus on expressing more love, kindness, smiling, joy, integrity, high moral standards, doing what's right, thinking each day how we can bless others? If people started thinking THAT way, we would have no WAR and we would be bringing The Smile Revolution to planet Earth. Go to a nursing home (House of Wisdom), and bring cheer and smiles. I dare you. Go to a homeless shelter and talk to them and see how you may be able to help someone.

Go to a hospital and volunteer. Maybe read to someone something uplifting or entertain them somehow if that is a gift of yours. Feed the poor. Give time or/and money to a cause..Haiti or Chile etc. Genuinely SMILE to everyone you see today whether you "know" them or not. Express unconditional love. Stop judging people whether its your family member or a so- called stranger(someone you just haven't met yet, but is part of your family on Earth). Forgive everyone for everything. NOW. I dare you.

When someone takes drugs, instead of saying that person is "getting high", I think we should say they are "getting low" or "going down". Its glorifying drug use like its something good and substantial, which its not. How many children these days are ruining their lives from heroin in high school?

Our priorities are off and its at a dangerous level now. Why are teenagers in Los Angeles robbing celebrity homes to get designer clothing, and jewels? Celebrities lives are envied and too much in the public eye..like they are each a God. Our society worships them. Instant gratification is rampant in our society. What are our movies, advertisements, television, magazines, websites and  music teaching our children? Are we feeding the next generation wholesome ideas to uplift and inspire them to greatness and to be all that they can be?

The Revolution is onWednesday, March 03, 2010 12:21 AMA simple smile can save us all.  Let's learn from the children. See their smiles. See their innocence. See their purity. They know something that we forgot. We were them- a long time ago. That child is still within us wanting to come out and play. Its about giving and receiving smiles. Sometimes I need your smile. Sometimes you need mine. It breaks the spell of gloom.
If you can focus on being a blessing to others, you cannot help but smile. How can you uplift others? We are at a critical point right now in history. Its up to you to help save our race with grace. Stand up and be counted. Joy is contagious. Forgive and live. Therein lies our freedom.
A sincere smile shows forth love. Be bold. A simple smile will do. It's from Heaven which is within us. That's where our substance lies. It's not in gold and rubies. I am not knocking nice possessions, but it's the worship of them. What are you worshipping? Is your God money or is it LOVE? How can you love more today? I saw an important film called "Invictus" about Nelson Mandela and how he saved South Africa through the power of forgiveness. He was in jail for 30 years for standing up for his human rights by white people and he could still forgive them and lead his nation to heal and drop their hate and love again. If he could do that, anyone can forgive anything. Smile With LoveWednesday, February 17, 2010 10:42 AM"When you smile, the love in your heart becomes visable. The genuineness and warmth of your smile gives an assurance that all is well. One smile wipes out a world of loneliness, doubt, and fear.
Pause now and connect with your inner heart. Allow it to unfold outwardly as a smile. Let your heart smile go out to the whole world. Keep smiling from your heart during this brief moment, until you know you have left your love imprint on everyone. Let your smile include everyone, even those you don't particularly like.
This is what it feels like to think and live as a Love Master.
There is nothing sweeter about you than your open, beautiful, generous, and healing smile!
The entire world says, Thank you!"

The Five People You Meet In HeavenSaturday, February 13, 2010 10:59 AMI saw one of the best spiritual movies ever recently from Netflix called "The Five People You Meet In Heaven"with Jon Voight and Ellen Burstyn from 2004. It has many insights about life and is very moving. Have a tissue nearby. One of the important lessons in the film is that there are many so-called ordinary low paying jobs where people feel that they are losers because our society judges everything by how much money you have and that that is all important..the film shows that a so-called ordinary man can and does make a huge difference in the lives of many people if he cares about helping people and is a loving soul, which this man was. He felt like a loser his whole life..but in the film it shows him that he wasn't. His perspective was just wrong.
Live as though Everything is a MiracleMonday, January 04, 2010 9:17 AMI found this wonder-ful poem on helpothers.org which is a great site.

This is what this person said ,"The following passage is a healthy prescription of how we can approach life. It is not about being famous or being wealthy. Truly, it is all about love. There are times when we feel as if we are separated from the rest. This illusion creates a mental prison.Hence, we should strive to internally liberate ourselves by widening our circle of compassion to embrace all living things."

"Open your heart to others and try to understand,
When someone reaches for you, hold out to them your hand,
Follow your heart, no matter what other people say,
Do things that make YOU able to SMILE throughout  your day.
Treat other people, the way you would like them to treat you,
Do what you know is right and to your heart and self stay true,
Remember what life is all about, it is how you make people feel,
What you do, where you go, and making dreams become real,
Helping people through, in hard times of pain and strife,
What you do for others, is what is important in life.

Look deeper and don't judge people by what is on the outside,
It is what is inside that counts and what people often hide,
Care, help, love, be honest, and be kind,
With purity and goodness within yourself, it is happiness you will find.

Do all you can in the time you have, you won't always be around, Recapture the JOY of little
things, that once were easily found,
And if you can do all this and live a life of love,
You will be helped through life, by all those up above."

Albert Einstein said,"There are two ways to live Life. One is though nothing is a miracle. The other is as though everything is a miracle."
Wisdom from Eleanor RooseveltMonday, January 04, 2010 5:07 AMHappy New Decade, my internet friends. I found this in The Poughkeepsie Journal and wanted to share it with you. Many blessings to you.

1. Meet life honestly and courageously.
2. To get more JOY, give more JOY.
3. Think more about the happiness you can GIVE.
4. Say definite things that MEAN something rather than generalities to which everyone can subscribe, and which mean very little.
5. Believe in the beauty of your dreams.
6. Do not be afraid to care too much.
7. Do the things you think you cannot.
8. Know that what one has to do usually can be done.
9. Learn who we really are and then live with that decision.
10. Be curious about life.
11. Live life with flavor.
12. Ask of others only what you are willing to do yourself.
13. Believe in PEACE.
14. Use energy wisely; it takes as much energy to wish as it does to plan.
15. Never turn your back on life.
16. No one can make you feel inferior without your consent.
17. Grow a tender conscience.
18. Think NEW thoughts every day.
19. Accept whatever comes; meet it with courage and with the best that you have to give.
20. To be friends with anyone else, be friends with yourself.
21. Have a great mind: discuss ideas and events, not people.
22. Remember that happiness is not a goal; it is a byproduct.
23. Have convictions.
24. Be FRIENDLY.
25. Understand that it is not a question anymore of what is good for "me," but what is good for the world.
26. Do not stop thinking of life as an adventure.
27. Leave the world a little better and brighter as a place to live in.
28. To handle yourself, use your head; to handle others, use your heart.
29. Learn from the mistakes of others. You can't live long enough to make them all yourself.

AnonymousI am blessed and so are youThursday, December 03, 2009 9:07 PMI asked a woman the other day, how was she doing? She said, "I am blessed." I said, "That is great, but you have to include the other person." So, I added, "I am blessed and so are you." I have been utilizing the idea and it is working. It wakes people up to the fact that we are indeed blessed and that we have a lot to be greatful for. Count your blessings. Many people are struggling in many ways these days especially, but if you realize that you are blessed, you cannot help but smile.
People are very moved when you tell them they are blessed and to wish them a blessed day. Try it, if you feel bold that day. Its fun.Our EldersThursday, December 03, 2009 8:52 PMHow did it begin the idea of looking DOWN on people who are "old"? Many people in this country look at "old" people like they are inferior, like they are less than "us".

Just because they have more wrinkles and may not look as attractive as "younger" people, does that make them people with no value? In the Native American culture, "older" people  are called "Elders". They are given that name out of respect and to look UP to them for wisdom and advice. Most people who have lived longer, do have knowledge from experience that others could benefit from. Why do we discard them and forget about them in nursing homes? I think of people as "ageless wonders" expressing qualities. Its very enriching spending time with our "Elders". I have entertained in many senior homes and have found it to be very rewarding. Many people these days are depressed and feel victimized because of losing their homes or jobs etc..

I have started a new campaign. Every day is a new day and every day that we awaken we are reborn. We are fresh and new everyday. Why do we have to believe that we are old our whole life from the time we are born? I talk about this on this blog on another entry, but this is an important idea to keep promoting. When you are two months "old" you are already "old"? People ask, "How OLD are you?" your whole life! WHY? Next time someone asks how old are you, you can say, " You mean, how NEW am I?" They will say, What do you mean? You can tell them that every day is a new day and I am reborn every day and so are THEY. Its for everyone not just you. I always include the person or people I am speaking to in the idea. Its wonderful to wake up every day and think that you are fresh and new today. I love it. It changes everything when you think that way.

Thanksgiving in Beacon, New York 2009Tuesday, December 01, 2009 9:10 AMIn 1978, my husband, Roland Mousaa, came up with the idea of having a "Thanksgiving for All" event where people who didn't have a place to go for the holiday could come in Woodstock, New York. Today around four hundred people come every year and people from all walks of life attend and volunteer. Its a real community event.
I met Roland in Woodstock where I was also living and  soon after we got married we relocated to Beacon, New York, still in the great Hudson Valley. Roland decided to start the "Thanksgiving for All" in Beacon this year.
He found a church to donate the space which has a big kitchen and stage for singing. (My husband is a singer-songwriter and he is also a solar scientist, landscape painter, and photographer www.rolandechobirds.com)
He made up flyers and we proceeded to promote the idea. Everyone loved it.
We got decorations, donations and volunteers to help.
We made food as well.
We didn't have a lot of people since it was the first year, but those who were involved loved it and were very moved my the whole project. PETE and TOSHI SEEGER supported it and gave us a contribution. They live here in Beacon.
Pete even stayed at the Thanksgiving dinner for 3 hours to support us.
Since there weren't many people and we had lots of food, he asked me to go out anf round up some more people in town who might want a free Thanksgiving meal with live music. So, I got a few friends to come.
I went to a food store and  went around wishing everyone a Happy Thanksgiving and asked if they wanted to come to St Luke's Church for a FREE Thanksgiving dinner with live music. I found a couple and the man's eyes lit up when I said live music. He was a musician. She didn't want to come since they were already shopping for food. It turns out that they showed up. She went to pay for the food and he debit card didn't work since her check hadn't cleared! They didn't have a car but walked to the church. She was nervous as she didn't know anyone, but they ended up having a great time and loved the music and we even gave them food to take home! He ended up knowing my husband as they had played together at a music venue.
We need to become more selfless and caring neighbors. The era that we are in DEMANDS it. We must awaken and take actions to help each other NOW.
How can you bless your neighbors? How can you make them smile?
We need to reach out and love each other. Stop judging each other. You cannot love when you are judging.
Everyone of us is different from the other..we need to start appreciating those differences.
We are one big family of man, woman ,animals and trees. There is life in all of us.

Smile IncessantlySunday, April 27, 2008 9:18 AMThis is from Ann Stevens, Thought for the Day.

We all know and remember a smiley person-someone whose heart seems to
radiate through their teeth. And when they do, notice how its almost
impossible not to smile back...unless you are feeling very, very grumpy! So,
if you don't feel a smile coming on..why not do it anyway. Not only does it
transform your inner chemical production and create "happy hormones", but when
people are at the other end of your smile, they smile back (well most do).
And if you really don't feel like smiling genuinely at life, the universe and everybody-
fake it until you make it!

Truly great what he said. Let us dare to SMILE in this era that we live in. That is revolutionary. We are having an awakening now. Can you feel it? This is the year...Mindy Smile Elder's Message of the DayFriday, February 22, 2008 7:02 AM"Laughter is a necessity in life that does not cost much, and the Old ones say that one of the greatest healing powers in our life is the ability to laugh."
--Larry P.Aitken, CHIPPEWA

Laughter is a good stress eliminator. Laughter causes healing powers to be distributed through our bodies. Laughter helps heal relationships that are having problems. Laughter can change other people. Laughter can heal the sick. Laughter is spiritual. One of the greatest gifts among Indian people has been our ability to laugh. Humor is natural to Indian people. Sometimes the only thing left to do is laugh.

Great Spirit, allow me to laugh when times
                                                           get tough.

Humor is natural to everyone.

" I walked around the corner,
and passed a grin to my friends,
They all smiled and then I realized,
I passed it on to them.

   The people who saw us
all started smiling at my friends,
   then we all soon realized
we passed it on to them.

Yes, a simple smile will do,
around the world then back to you
    it's called The Smile Revolution,
that goes around the world and then comes back to you.

The news reporters with their camera's
turned and all smiled with us,
the people in the town saw,
then all started smiling with us.

The national news saw us smiling
then forgot their problems in the cities
      they started reporting smiles
throughout the nation all over our countries.

Yes, a simple smile will do,
around the world then back to you
       Its called The Smile Revolution,
that goes around the world and then comes back to you."

Love is Lonely in CrowdsWednesday, November 21, 2007 8:36 PMThis is from Albert Schweitzer's book, The Spiritual Life. Written in 1947.

"From a feeling of embarassment, we hesitate to approach a stranger. The fear of being repulsed is the cause of a great deal of coldness in the world; when we seem indifferent we are often merely timid. The adventurous soul must break that barrier, resolving in advance not to mind a rebuff. If we dare with wisdom, always maintaining a certain reserve in our approach, we find that when we open ourselves we open doors in others.

Especially in great cities do the doors of the heart need to be opened. Love is always lonely in crowds. Country and village people know each other and realize some mutual dependence, but the inhabitants of cities are strangers who pass without salute-so isolated, so separate, often so lost and despairing. What a stupendous opportunity is waiting there for men and women who are willing to be simply human!

Begin anywhere-in office, factory, subway. There may have been SMILES across a streetcar aisle that stayed the purpose of a suicide. Often a friendly glance is like a single ray of sunshine, piercing a darkness we ourselves may not dream is there."

"Your show is very uplifting. I keep tuned in til the end of the show. You remind me of the importance of giving a smile and that you are sure to get it back. You make people feel that life is worth living, and that they are not alone. You're willing to share ideas that are helpful to others, encouraging people that life can be good and if we are willing to choose a simple smile that life can be brighter."

The Value of a SmileThursday, October 11, 2007 3:08 PMEsther Francis wrote this when she was inspired by my invitation to be on The Smile Revolution Radio Show.

The Value of a Smile

"A smile is a blessing, a benediction, a gentle breeze--an energy wash that is friendly and warm.

When a "passer-by" on the street smiles at me I feel welcomed, as if that person is affirming my presence on the planet.

A smile is the silent sign-language that says that life is good, you are good and I am good, no matter what is happening.

A smile is a sun that pierces through clouds of discouragement and brings a hug without arms.

When I smile I feel so good, it's as if my entire being is made lighter and lifted by the corners of my mouth as they rise.

A smile is easy and costs nothing but its value is immeasurable.

Yesterday I made a decision to notice smiles in the course of my day. I discovered that most of my smiles came about when I passed or saw other human beings.

A smile is a welcome, an embrace, a generous flowering of heart, conveyed effortlessly and joyously.

Smiles sweep away the clutter of a worried mind.

Smiles are like stars bringing light to darkness. Imagine our universe, its millions of galaxies, each shining with millions of smile-light.

My imagination makes me smile when I'm playful and happy. When I allow it to dwell on what I'm afraid of my smile disappears. All I need to do to find it again is to re-direct my imagination to anything marvelous, delightful or delicious that makes me smile. Gratitude is a grace that restores my smile. Thanks for family and friends, food and beauty, all the blessings in my life I can so easily forget to appreciate. I'm smiling now as I realize that I need to remember and realize this!"

WKNY 1490 am Kingston, New York  Sundays at 3:30pm for one hourLaura Moliter's philosophySaturday, September 22, 2007 11:43 AMLaura Moliter, spiritual healer, author, poet and singer/songwriter, www.beingfreenow.com,  sent this to me yesterday...

"I was discussing my philosophy on living with a friend of mine. He grabbed a quote off his desk and said he had just received this and thought it articulated what I believe about life. He was right. I loved it and wanted to share it with my Smile Revolution friends."

"The master in the ART of living makes little distinction between
his work and his play,
his labor and his leisure,
his mind and his body,
his information and his recreation,
his love and his religion.
He hardly knows which is which.
He simply pursues his vision of excellence at whatever he does,
leaving others to decide whether
he is WORKING or playing.

To him he's always doing both."

Be FREESunday, September 16, 2007 9:30 PMThis was written about 200 years ago.
It was handed to me on the week that I got married.

"Nothing is more damaging than depression. Depression is the cause of all kinds of ills, including sickness and disease. When you are happy, come what may, you are free. Your mind will be settled and you will understand things clearly. Try and turn your very depression and worry into joy. If you really set your mind to it you will find that even amidst the worst troubles and suffering, there is an opening you can use to convert all the depression into joy."

1. SMILE. Most people are full of pain and worry and all kinds of troubles. But when you come to them with a smiling face, you can literally give them life.

2. Make it a habit to always sing a happy song. It will send joy into your soul.

3. Judge others favorably. You may see much that is bad in them. Still, search out their good points.

4. Judge yourself favorably. Sift through for your good points and take joy in them.

5. Don't despair. If you believe you can damage, believe you can repair.

6. Ask God to help you understand why you came into this world and how you can fulfill your purpose.

7. Give some charity. Charity brings peace.

8. Tell the truth. Truth brings peace.

"...and know that in life one has to pass over a very narrow bridge. The main thing is not to be afraid."

Rebbe NachmanA smileTuesday, August 28, 2007 6:49 AM"A smile costs nothing, but gives much. It enriches those who receive, without making poorer those who give. It takes but a moment, but the memory of it sometimes lasts forever. None is so rich or mighty that he(she) can get along without it, and none is so poor but that he(she) can be made rich by it. A smile creates happiness in the home, fosters good will in business, and is the countersign of friendship. It brings rest to the weary, cheer to the discouraged, sunshine to the sad, and it is nature's best antidote for trouble. Yet it cannot be bought, borrowed, or stolen, for it is something that is of no value to anyone until it is given away. Some people are too tired to give you a smile. Give them one of yours, as none needs a smile so much as he(she) who has no more to give."

AnonymousChief SeattleThursday, August 16, 2007 4:31 AMI found this from an e-mail I receive..this is the website.www.intenders.org.

Chief Seattle said," My brother, I tell you true. If all who see the Earth as being poisoned would, instead, give more attention to seeing the Earth clean and vibrant, then, very soon, your Earth would be cleansed.

If all who see their nation's leaders as misguided or uncaring would, instead, give more time to seeing themselves being represented by responsible, caring leaders who stand firm for the highest good of all, then, very soon, you would have good leadership.

If all who see their spouses or family members as troublesome or unloving would, instead, give more thought to seeing their loved ones as the shining children of God that they are, then, very soon, all challenged relationships would be renewed and love rekindled.

If all who see themselves as sick or poor or weak of heart or undeserving would, instead give more energy to seeing themselves as healthy, abundant, empowered, worthy. and lifted up, then, very soon, they would experience all of the good things that life has to offer.

Each problem, seen from the positive side, always turns into a blessing.

Each sorrow leads you to your joy.
Each doubt-to your knowing.
Each lack-to your abundance.
Each debt-to your freedom.
Each act of anger-to your love.
Each act of war-to your peace.
Each journey through darkness-into the light."

I have abbreviated this..for the blog.
